Different Types of Cardio Exercises

Even something as simple as going to the park to play with your kids can count as your "cardio workout". Run around, play tag, climb on the monkey bars...just do something! Getting healthy doesn't mean you have to do something completely structured and planned. Personally, I don't like typical cardio workouts like riding a stationary bike or using an elliptical machine. I much prefer to lift weights.

Cardio exercises are considered to be an effective workout performed to eliminate unwanted body fats. The main goal of some of the various kinds of weight loss exercises is to consume greater amounts of oxygen. This is gleaned as a faster way to lose weight and coming to the point of fact that the body burns calories for every amount of oxygen it consumes.

Most experts advocate that when you are exercising to build muscle you switch muscle building with cardio, say every other day.  The cardio will enhance your bodies capacity to efficiently improve the heart and lung rate to maximize the workout.Be sure not to over extend yourself. A workout should last no longer than one hour a day.A normal session is between 30 -60 minutes,any longer may actually hurt your muscle building and cardio endeavors

You probably are wondering whether performing low-intensity exercises are enough to keep people from coming obese. The answer is "no," as there is an increasing number of obese people in the world today, though many of them perform low-intensity routines, such as walking and swimming. That is why high-intensity cardio exercises are virtually a must for everyone.

Glycogen is made primarily by the liver and muscles and forms an energy reserve to be used for short bursts energy. When it was first discovered your body burns glycogen during high intensity exercise it was assumed by many that no, or little, fat was burned. The further assumption was that your body burn a lot of fat during low intensity cardio exercise.

Swimming offers a great workout for the entire body and includes movements which activate the major muscles. Swimming is also a fun activity and doesn't feel like a typical workout routine. The different swimming stroke like breast stroke and freestyle targets many muscles of the body. You should swim for at least thirty minutes regularly for effective results.

It is also a good idea for you to start out slow with a less intensive workout and over time build up to the more intensive workout. This will help you get started losing weight and you can make adjustments to prevent from hurting yourself and maintaining your health.

Before you go buy one, think of the exercises you want to do to success in your fitness goal. If you prefer walking, jogging and running, treadmill is perfect for you.If you prefer cross-country skiing, you may try elliptical trainers. If you prefer cycling and want to be more comfortable while doing a workout, a stationary bike is for you.
